Are Ghosts and Psychic Mediums real?

Have you ever been fascinated by ghosts, hauntings, and psychics? I know I have. After all, it's a natural curiosity. Have you ever given in to the urge to have your palm read, etc? Back in the 90s when it was popular to call a "psychic" I gave in. I made that phone call. It was what I expected; inaccurate, disappointing, and ridiculous. (THANKFULLY!!!)

If that "psychic" would have gotten even ONE bit of information right, I would've been hooked for sure. Not only would it have been expensive (those were '900' numbers, which were not cheap) but it would've invited something beyond terrible in to my life.

Here are some Bible verses that I didn't know about until I started studying my Bible. It kind of blows my mind that these Bible verses and the true meaning behind psychics and ghosts are not more known, especially in the church! Maybe I was absent that day, but I have NEVER heard a preacher in any church I have attended speak about the subject. If you have, I would love to hear from you in the comments.

Leviticus 19:31

³¹ “Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 20:6

New Living Translation

⁶ “I will also turn against those who commit spiritual prostitution by putting their trust in mediums or in those who consult the spirits of the dead. I will cut them off from the community.

Leviticus 20:27

²⁷ “Men and women among you who act as mediums or who consult the spirits of the dead must be put to death by stoning. They are guilty of a capital offense.”

Isaiah 8:19-20

¹⁹ Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?

²⁰ Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

"But that person knew things about my loved one that they couldn't have known!"

I've seen the mediums on TV that talk to famous (or even non-famous) people and they seem to know private details about that person's deceased family member or friend. Sure, it could be all made up and everyone is in on it. Afterall, it is a TV show. But, 2 Corinthians 11:14 says, " But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." Satan is not everywhere like God is but he does have demons that he can send anywhere he wants. So, why wouldn't he give a medium information? He knows God doesn't want us to consult mediums. He also knows how vulnerable someone is that has lost someone they love and miss. We desperately want to believe they are still around and watching over us.

But what about ghosts?

Ecclesiastes 9:5-6

⁵ The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered. ⁶ Whatever they did in their lifetime—loving, hating, envying—is all long gone. They no longer play a part in anything here on earth.

What about all those accounts of people seeing things happen that could only be explained by the presence of ghosts? Many have seen unexplainable things and believe the only possibility is a ghost. Well, the only explanation for that is demons. Satan is the master of lies! He wants us to seek out mediums and "haunted houses". He wants us to play with Ouija boards and watch horrors movies!
